Leslie Wong

Leslie is a Hong Kong/Toronto native who comes to The Voices and Faces Project with a passion for learning about and sharing the different insights regarding social justice issues. With a B.A. in Sociology from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada, Leslie is now settled in Chicago, assisting the project in outreach and development. She has also always had a creative intuition and values any medium of personal expression that can become emotionally moving and thought provoking.

The issue of rape or sexual assault interests Leslie because it is not only an issue of a personal level, but also one holding great public relevance, surpassing any sort of "ism" in society. Leslie is a member of the CNOW (Chicago National Organization for Women) Violence Against Women team, a certified Medical Advocate with Rape Victim Advocates in Chicago, and a former intern of Beyondmedia Education in Chicago.

"The Voices and Faces Project is something I want to be involved with because it promotes an innovative, compassionate and collaborative way to educate about important social issues to an all-inclusive audience. There is not only the big picture to look at here, but also many different ones within that are equally as important to be shared."
