Alisa Roadcup
Alisa brings five years of experience in women's issues to TVFP. Alisa supports the Project through conducting on-line outreach and various communications initiatives.
Alisa has worked for Amnesty International's Stop Violence Against Women Campaign in Colorado, Arizona and Illinois since 2003. She began her career as an intern with AIUSA and worked as Program Assistant for Amnesty’s Urgent Action Network in Nederland, Colorado. Alisa then moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where she worked with survivors of sexual assault as a client advocate. She went on to work as Education Director and designed, implemented, and managed educational programming for Fresh Start Women's Resource Center in downtown Phoenix.
In 2007, Alisa moved to Chicago and met Anne Ream, the founder of TVFP. She became involved when Anne invited her to share her survival testimony. Alisa feels that TVFP is an extraordinary organization in that it offers survivors a supportive medium to explore and express their own voice. "When I went on the website and read the survivors' testimonies, I was so impressed by the courage and bravery each person portrayed – each in their own voice. I knew I wanted to be a part of TVFP as they are exploring the issue of sexual violence from many perspectives. They are going above and beyond the "status quo" in terms of their vision, innovation and creativity."
In Chicago, Alisa works for Step Up Women’s Network, a national network of women dedicated to strengthening community resources for women and girls. Alisa oversees membership development and the Women’s Health Advocacy Program.
Alisa holds a B.A. in Humanities and an M.A. in Comparative Religion. Upon graduation, she studied Contemplative Social Action at Naropa University at Boulder, Colorado. Alisa is also a graduate of Women Unlimited, Inc. Her heroes include Thomas Merton, Desmond Tutu and Dr. Judith Simmer-Brown.
